These figures were originally published in the LAA Magazine in June 2009 in an article written by Dave Sawdon. I don't think a detailed text explanation is required as I believe they are pretty self explanatory. Bob Ellis.
We all know the One in Sixty rule and clock codes and you can work out cross/Head wind components but not so easy in the air ....
However we all probably have one of these (steam or digital) ....
Dave's method is brilliantly simple ....
